Council for Advancement of Peopleís Action & Rural Technology (CAPART) under the aegis of Ministry of Rural Development is pleased to inform that it is opening Institute for Poverty Alleviation & Rural Technology at its premises at 53, D Block Institutional Area, Janak Puri, New Delhi.
CAPART was established in 1986 with a mandate to encourage, promote and assist voluntary action and inject new technological inputs in the implementation of rural development projects. In order to fulfill CAPARTís mandate the Institute has been set up to serve as a Resource Centre for NGOs and researchers for conducting need based studies, research, training and workshops for dissemination and demonstration of different technologies. A Knowledge Portal will be created which will provide easy networking and linkages with NGOs, researchers and other institutions and bodies working in the rural development sector. Work is in progress in all these areas and all the facilities are expected to become operational in the next two months.
A well equipped library with facilities for online searches will be established in the Institute. The membership of the library is open for NGOs, research scholars, students, academicians etc. The membership can be availed at a nominal charge and can be renewed after every two years. In this regard, we look forward to applications from NGOs for membership and request them to nominate members from their organization for becoming the members of the library. A maximum of four members can be nominated from each organization. The membership guidelines and application form can be downloaded free of cost from CAPARTís website www.capart.nic.in.
