CAPART is an autonomous orgnization under the Ministry of Rural Development,
established in 1986. One of its main
objectives is to promote voluntary action towards implementation of projects
for the enhancement of rural prosperity and to act as a catalyst for
development of technologies appropriate to the rural areas. Over the years, CAPART has assisted a large
number of NGOs for implementation of various projects related to rural
development and its allied areas. Apart
from funding support and providing a platform for sharing knowledge and
experience, the Council encourages innovative technologies by not only
providing the funds required to develop them, but also by disseminating
knowledge of these to the rural communitites
requiring them. More information about

CAPART intends to compile a
Directory comprising relevant information about all the administrative
blocks in the country. This Directory is intended to benefit Government
agencies, policy makers, aid giving agencies and all persons requiring such
information for academic purposes. Since no such reference material is at present
available, it will be our endeavor to compile the information in the form of a
Directory for use as
a reference tool. It is expected to be
of immense help to the Government Departments/funding agencies to implement
development programmes in rural areas keeping in view
the local requirements. Consequently, a Proforma is placed below for providing the requisite
information. The proforma is also available at CAPART
